The historic building has great atmosphere. Despite being in the middle of tourist dense old town, this restaurant has really great food. We came here at a friend's recommendation for the stuffed sopapillas. Holy moly, they were delicious! It's more wet sopapillas than stuffed. The choice of green, red, or christmas sauce was poured on top of freshly made sopapillas, with more sopapillas on the side. We were the ones that were stuffed! I love how the addictive side sopapillas became dessert drizzled with honey.

Oh boy, how I wished I can have one of those sopapillas with honey now.

I ate here many times as a child while travelling to New Mexico. My wife and I recently went there on vacation and it was just like I remember. Terrific food, good service, and good prices. I don't know how it stands up to other places in Albuquerque for authenticity, but to me you can't do any better than this. The cheese dip with the green chiles was fantastic, and the beef burrito was great as well. My wife and I shared a Navajo taco one afternoon as well, and I thought it was the greatest thing I've ever tasted!!

We go there every time we're in Albuquerque simply because we get a kick out of a restaurant that has a tree in the middle of one of the dining rooms. Where else have you ever seen that?

We think the food is great. On our recent trip, the hostesses were friendly and our busboy was great. The server was pretty good.

Mainly, we like the old building, the setting and the decor.

After a long drive, La Placita was a welcome treat. The service was friendly and quick. The food was very good, and the ambience enjoyable. I had a park burrito with a spicy red sauce. The rice and beans tasted amazing. To top it off, delicious sopapillas were served fresh and hot , with honey.
